The long awaited official re-launch of Full Tilt Poker is finally here, and with it came a multitude of ups and downs, everything from excessively munificent promotions to an immediate clog of player transactions that knocked the banking department down for a while. One particular aspect that thousands of players have been waiting patiently for was the release of the full schedule of events for the online poker room’s infamous FTOPS tournament series.

Yesterday, Full Tilt Poker obliged, rolling out a red carpet of 35 illustrious events worth millions in guaranteed prize pools. FTOPS XXI is set to kick off on December 2 with a $216 buy-in event that guarantees a minimum of $750,000 to the top finishers. FTOPS tournaments will continue with multiple daily events up until the celebrated Main Event on December 16, featuring a $640 buy-in and $1.5 million GTD.

Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS Main Event has grown exponentially larger with each passing installment of the series, excluding its most recent, post-Black Friday running. The largest main event in the history of the series drew so many competitors that the guaranteed prize pool rose high enough to exceed the $9 million mark, awarding a monumental $1.1 million to the first place winner, Blair Hinkle, as the result of a final table deal.

FTOPS XX wasn’t nearly so grand, due to the truancy of its once immense American player base. It will be interesting to see the participation levels in this latest chapter in Full Tilt Poker’s biggest seasonal online poker tournament, considering US players are still locked out of online poker room. If the stratum of activity within the first few hours of Full Tilt Poker’s re-launch is any indication, FTOPS XXI has a lot of potential. According to the independent poker tracking site Poker Scout, the online poker room has already recaptured its #2 position in active traffic, comfortably resting in the familiar position beneath its new sister-site PokerStars.
